The Western Pennsylvania Humane Society is seeking a full-time (at least 40 hours/week)associate veterinarian to work at our shelter and veterinary clinic in Pittsburgh. A responsible, enthusiastic, client-oriented individual with a positive attitude to practice preventative medicine and surgery is needed. The veterinarian would be responsible for spay/neuter of shelter and client-owned animals and would provide veterinary care for in-house, adopted, and client-owned animals. QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Current Veterinary License to practice in state of Pennsylvania. Current DEA license. 2. Responsible, enthusiastic and client-oriented. 3. Ability to talk to individuals of all education levels and convey information effectively. 4. Ability to work well with others, using a team approach. 5. Flexibility with work hours, with ability to work some evenings and Saturdays. PHYSICAL ABILITIES: Ability to lift 50 pounds. WORK ENVIRONMENT: 1. Moderate or loud noise levels in kennel 2. Exposure to frightened, diseased or vicious animals
