Town and Country Animal Hospital located in Ocala, FL is looking for an Associate Veterinarian to join our team!!
We are a multi-doctor practice, in a beautiful 6500 sq. ft. facility with 7 exam rooms, spacious treatment area, medicine and surgery ICU areas, large doctors’ office, staff lounge and large ward/kennel areas. Our practice routinely treats challenging medical, surgical and dental cases. We have an AMAZING team of well trained client care specialists, technical and assistant staff as well as a full time practice manager. We strive to provide caring, competent and cutting edge care and maintain a robust well-care program. We enjoy frequent referrals from nearby clinics and have a close relationship with the small animal hospital at the University of Florida for us to refer cases, as well as specialist centers in Gainesville, Orlando, Tampa and Jacksonville (all are less than 120 miles away).
Our hospital is well-equipped with:
a full IDEXX in-house lab including CBC, chemistry, electrolytes, UA, and clotting panels
Full imaging abilities utilizing digital radiography, digital dental radiography
Toshiba Doppler ultrasound
Endoscopy, Tonopen, and Doppler blood pressure
Matrix anesthesia machines, Surgivet monitors, Surgivet forced air thermal support, heated adjustable tables, Cutting Edge CO2 laser, and fluid pumps
Specialized orthopedic equipment including pneumatic drill, saggital saw, TPLO saw. We have equipment for plating, interlocking nails and external fixation as well as a head lamp.
A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited university.
Licensure in good standing to practice in the state in which applicant is to be employed.
The ability to make decisions and communicate clearly and effectively with fellow team members.
A commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine, upholding the veterinary code of ethics.
Develop a rapport with clients and determine their needs and wishes; perform physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures in a way that will deliver the highest quality care while minimizing patient stress and discomfort.
Explain physical examination findings and communicate to the client a diagnosis of the pet’s problems; generate and present a treatment plan for the pet to the client; educate clients on preventative health care, including vaccines and appropriate nutritional products.
Maintain client/patient medical/surgical records and make certain all necessary logs are kept up-to-date through established protocols; assist colleagues in follow-up and future management of the patient.
Stay up-to-date with new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine, attend Continuing Education meetings and complete at least 30 hours of accredited CE per year.
Assist in the development of the paraprofessional team to ensure the delivery of the highest quality care and exceptional client service.
Positively represent the hospital in the professional community and to the general public.
