Veterinary Specialists of Connecticut is seeking an additional board certified or board eligible critical care specialist to join our current team of two. We are a multispecialty small animal practice composed of five Internal Medicine specialists, six surgeons, four medical oncologists, one radiation oncologist, three radiologists, and a cardiologist in addition to our two DACVECCS. We have 24-hour ER at all three locations staffed by twenty full-time ER doctors. Our doctors pride themselves on providing expert, timely, collaborative, and compassionate care. Our hospital values a culture of teamwork and offers formal communication training to all our doctors. We believe that the high rate of burnout affecting veterinarians working in E/CC is alarming, and we strive to maintain a good work/life balance for each of our employees. Critical care doctors at Veterinary Specialists are primarily responsible for the direct management of patients hospitalized in the ICU. We also consult on other specialty services; cases, assist with procedures (e.g., pericardiocentesis, endoscopic foreign body retrieval, anesthesia for high-risk patients, etc.), and contribute to the in-house education of interns, ER doctors, and the other specialists. West Hartford, near the state's capital, is listed in Kiplinger's top-10 cities and cities of the next decade. Highly regarded local schools match the vibrant town center shopping and restaurants. The Berkshires, Vermont ski slopes and Atlantic beaches are a short drive away as well as more urban experiences in Boston and Manhattan. In addition to living in a beautiful area, our benefits package includes a competitive salary, moving stipend, annual professional licensing and association fees, generous CE allowance, 401K, and health insurance.

About Veterinary Specialists of Connecticut
While other group practices promote a one size fits all approach, a Pet Partners’ veterinary hospital is encouraged to retain their unique personal style. We work with practices to remove roadblocks and enable them to reach goals they never thought possible. By having us behind-the-scenes to support operations, doctors and their staff are able to dedicate their attention to creating a superior experience for pets and their owners. We find that makes for a pretty satisfying partnership.
Pet Partners specializes in purchasing neighborhood animal hospitals. We provide each with a wide suite of business management support services. These services are in place to assist animal hospitals in the pursuit of reaching their goals.
Our business was founded by two well-respected veterinarians who practiced for a combined total of almost 40 years and had experienced the opportunities, challenges, inspirations, and frustrations that drive a veterinarian and a private practice.
