Florissant Animal Hospital in Florissant, MO seeks an Associate DVM to join our practice.
Located in St. Louis, MO, Florissant Animal Hospital is North County’s only full service veterinary hospital offering small animal medical and surgical services, boarding and grooming. Our hospital was established in 1958 and has been accredited with AAHA for over 50 years. We have six doctors, two groomers and twenty-three support staff. We are looking for an enthusiastic DVM to join our dedicated and experienced team. Great position for new grads or experienced practitioner. Part-time or full-time hours available.
Modern building with five exam rooms, two table treatment area, two table surgery suite, five wards, an isolation ward, a large dog run area and an outdoor exercise area
Recently upgraded dental suite to include two state of the art high speed units as well as digital dental radiography. All staff received in depth dental training two months ago.
In-house laboratory capabilities for selected blood chemistries and panels (new Idexx suite), urinalysis, sediments, cultures, PCV, TP, Felv/FIV, and various ELISA tests performed by technicians. Also external full service clinical and pathological laboratories.

Digital X-ray system and digital dental radiographs
Isoflurane anesthesia (3 anesthesia machines and pulse oximeters ) – with technicians monitoring for surgery

Newest version of AVImark – streamlines the management of a client database of more than 12000 patients
In addition to the regular small animal practice, we also offer full service boarding and grooming that adds to our clients overall satisfaction.

St. Louis veterinarians enjoy an active local veterinary association as well as monthly continuing education meetings held by one of the three specialty referral practices in our area.
In addition to the responsibilities outlined below, the Associate Veterinarian is an invaluable member of the hospital team who works directly with a Managing Doctor and supporting medical staff. This individual advances the quality of medicine in the practice and provides exceptional client service to our clients and patients.
Builds rapport with clients by gathering information and listening to, and empathizing with their concerns
Performs physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures that deliver the highest quality care while minimizing patient stress and discomfort.
Communicates with clients on topics such as pet diagnosis, treatment plans, preventive health care, and nutritional needs.
Maintains client/patient medical/surgical records and makes certain all necessary logs are kept up-to-date through established protocols.
Stays current on new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine.
Assists in the development of the paraprofessional team to ensure delivery of the highest quality care and exceptional client service.
Presents a positive image of the hospital in the professional community and to the general public.
Skills and Basic Qualifications
A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or related degree from an accredited university.
Licensure in good standing to practice in the state in which applicant is to be employed.
Commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding veterinary code of ethics.
Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Works collaboratively with hospital team members.
Makes decisions confidently and effectively.
Manages time and tasks appropriately.
