The position we are looking to fill is in a clinical lead role in our LA Team. Our team consists of recent, mid-level and experienced cattle veterinarians. The position is responsible for the clinical leadership and clinical direction of the large animal veterinary team at Allansford. The position would increase The Vet Group Large Animal team’s presence and reputation within the community including raising the suite of services available at The Vet Group. The position will include scope to contribute to decisions, policies and procedures that will help shape the future direction of the business and achievement of its strategic objectives.
The position is responsible for advocating for the team, clinical supervision, training, inspiration and leadership of clinical providers assigned to the large animal team at Allansford.
To contribute to the ongoing success and development of The Vet Group by:
Representing the large animal disciplines within The Vet Group management team, advocating for the Allansford team and participating in large animal leadership activities.
Monitoring the financial performance of the Allansford team against targets and budget.
Review clinical staff performance to ensure standards and quality of care and efficient use of resources; contribute to succession planning and handover of duties as part of staff development and workforce planning.
Input to business development to expand and grow services including successful rollout of Herd, Heifer and other herd-focused services to maximize opportunities for The Vet Group to grow and expand its product range.
Development, implementation and review of standard treatment protocols for health interventions, management and advice.
Development recommendations and identify suitable continuing education opportunity for Veterinary Staff. Contribution to monthly training sessions and local tutorial sessions.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory agency requirements.
Maintain clinical activity by participation in departmental clinical workload, including participation in the after-hours on-call roster.
We also have a position for a graduate with 2+ years experience in Bovine or mixed practice. As this is a premium dairy industry, you will need bovine experience to succeed in this role.
Additional Salary Information: Salary package dependant upon experience.
