Albany Animal Hospital, Inc. is looking for an exceptional individual to join our team in the role of Certified/Licensed Veterinary Technician. We provide medical care to small animals, exotics and wildlife.

This full time position requires solid technical skills and your commitment to providing patients and clients with the highest standard of care. Your skills will be utilized to the fullest!
Work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 6:00pm (Start and end times may vary slightly, depending on needs of patients.)
Minimum of three years working in the veterinary field as a certified/licensed technician
Currently licensed or eligible to become licensed as a Certified Veterinary Technician in the State of Oregon
Preferred minimum of one year critical care, specialty, or emergency small animal care in private, non-profit, or educational organization.
A suitable combination of experience or education may substitute for the above.
State of Oregon Certification/licensure required to receive bonus
Successfully completing 90 day probationary period required to receive hiring bonus.

The successful candidate will have experience with:
Assisting with physical examinations
Inducing and monitoring anesthesia
Calculating and administering therapeutic drugs
Managing nursing care and treatments
Performing dental scale and polish
Taking radiographs (we've gone digital!)
Providing client education
And possess the following qualities:
Take personal responsibility as well as display integrity on the job
Be reliable, punctual and many times, self-directed
Have the ability to handle stressful situations with compassion including the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, without sacrificing attention to detail or safety
Possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral
Enjoy teaching and learning; including a desire to share knowledge with peers

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to bend, stand, stoop, walk, sit, talk, and listen; may be required to walk or stand for long periods of time; will use hands to manipulate, handle, restrain, or feel; will reach with hands and arms. The employee may often be required to lift, carry and handle animals weighing up to fifty pounds or more.
