West Branch Veterinary Services(westbranchvet.com) currently has openings for full time DVM's in our companion animal practice. We are nestled amongst the forests, rivers, and lakes of beautiful northern Michigan in an area much sought by vacationers and outdoor recreation enthusiasts, yet we are less than one hour from the urban conveniences of the Tri-City area via I-75. We all know what a gift it is to live in such a beautiful area, in a town like West Branch which has preserved its small town atmosphere while offering all the amenities anyone could need. and to serve our clients and care for our patients in such a great practice.
Our progress and growth at WBVS has been a great blessing; however, we have reached a point where further growth requires an expansion of our professional staff. We are seeking candidates that appreciate the importance of general practice and wellness care, but also welcome and rise to the challenge of a diverse medical/surgical caseload. It is important that veterinarians selected for these positions also realize that not only is this our "job", but also an opportunity to serve and give back.
At the end of the day, "healthy longevity" is the common goal we share with our clients for their pets. Here at WBVS we believe it takes a team which encompasses Dr, staff, and pet owner to reach this goal, and education is a huge part of building this team.
Successful candidates for veterinary positions on the West Branch Veterinary Services team would be expected to see small animal wellness appointments, medicine cases, urgent/emergency cases, and perform routine(though we do NOT believe any surgery is truly routine) surgeries. As we are looking for Dr's to expand the services we can offer our clients/patients, we would like to see veterinarians interested in developing their own interests within the practice and our clientele/caseload would certainly allow this growth. Our patients are predominantly canine and feline, some rodents(rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, etc), and minor avian/reptile procedures though this area could be developed with interest and advanced training. We utilize a local ER clinic and also see a minimal number of after hour ER's. Our Dr's are bonused when they do see emergencies after hours.
The size of our practice and our hours of service allows us the freedom to offer some nice perks such as three day weekends.
Our staff is a nice blend of long-term, experienced members and also younger, energetic staffers. A great energy and environment to mentor and grow young Dr's abounds here at WBVS, and it combines well with the desire we all have to lift one another up through our workplace. New and recent veterinarians are very welcome to apply and any young Dr accepted into our team would have a personalized development plan created with our veterinarian owner and manager that would continue on to eventual partnership and ownership for the right people.
West Branch Veterinary Services has grown, adapted, and evolved over the past four decades into what it is today. I would like to invite you to submit your resume for consideration to join our team as we move forward into our 5th decade as a practice.

West Branch Veterinary Services is a companion animal practice surrounded by the forests, rivers, and lakes of northern Michigan and located less than an hour on I-75 from the urban conveniences of the Tri-City area. Truly we have been blessed by being able to live in this amazing area where so many flock to vacation while still having all the amenities of suburbia nearby. in return, we provide ou...r community with an unparalleled level of customer service and offer our patients an ever-evolving and expanding level of care. Our staff is a blend of both experienced long-term members and energetic younger members, but all are dedicated 110% to our doctors, patients, clients, and the WBVS mission. We believe healthcare is a team sport, and every member of that team plays a critical role including the pet owner. We foster this team approach by dealing with all clients in a compassionate manner and focusing upon education from the time of initial contact on the phone, through the entire appointment process, and then even after our patients/clients have gone home.Clientele and caseload is about as diverse as one can find. Everyday we see pets from old local farm families, vacationers, retirees that live here after fleeing the city, working folks and professionals. General practices' typical fare of wellness exams, vaccines, and surgical sterilizations definitely make up a portion of each day; however, the volume of non-routine medical and surgical cases often far outweighs the routine as word of our level of care and capabilities has spread throughout northern Michigan.
