Immediate opening for veterinarian position. Panhandle Animal Health Services (PAHS) is located within the City of Amarillo's shelter facility but is not affiliated with the City of Amarillo. PAHS is affiliated with the Amarillo-Panhandle Humane Society (APHS) and the new veterinarian will be in charge of spaying and neutering a high volume of animals to help with the city of Amarillo's overpopulation problem. The new veterinarian will also provide health certificates for animals leaving the shelter to go to out of state rescues. In addition to these responsibilities, the veterinarian will be responsible for examining APHS animals in foster care and prescribing medications for typical ailments. Most of all, the veterinarian who is perfect for this position will be comfortable in a high volume, high stress environment. This vet will thrive knowing that all of their work is going directly to saving animals of the panhandle and to making this part of our state a healthier pet environment.

APHS works to provide a pathway for animals of the Texas Panhandle to find loving homes through adoption, foster, rescue and transport.
APHS seeks to educate the public about the benefits of spaying and neutering their pets and to provide avenues of low cost spay and neuter for our community.
