We are seeking an associate for our small animal practice, located immediately west of Cleveland, within 2 miles of Lake Erie.
Lakewood Animal Hospital has been established for 37 years, and is among the most respected practices in the Cleveland area, according to many. Certainly, our reputation for high quality and compassionate care is well deserved.
Currently, we are 5 full-time (35-40 hours per week) practitioners, with 28 total staff members. One of our Associates will be retiring within the year and it is this position we are filling.
Our staff enjoys extraordinary stability, owing to the friendship and respect we have for each other. We believe our working environment is exceptional.
Lakewood is a diverse community with many advantages to those who live or work here. However, our patients are drawn from many neighboring communities as well, some from 15-20 miles distant, which we believe is a testament to the care which pets and owners receive from our highly competent and friendly staff. Persons locating to this area will find a very wide variety of affordable housing within Lakewood and nearby communities.
We enjoy life along the north coast, for the outdoor amenities (Lake Erie with its islands, the Cleveland Metroparks system and zoo), not to mention the desirable proximity of our major sports teams and the Cleveland Orchestra and major museums we have available in Cleveland.
Lakewood Animal Hospital has made an ongoing commitment to continuing education for our doctors and technician staff, and to technology. We maintain an extensive in-house laboratory for routine workups, digital radiology, including a newly installed dental x-ray machine, and ultrasound. We have a class IV laser for acute and chronic pain therapy and to assist healing, as well as other tools and 'toys' needed for medical and surgical use in this modern age of veterinary medicine. All radiographs are read by a board-certified radiologist, through an on-line service (Vet-Rad). Our practice and management software is Cornerstone.
Our hospital offers 6 examination rooms, separate waiting, examination and kennel areas for cats and dogs, a cat-friendly approach to practice and treatment for felines, within approximately 7000 square feet.
Weekend and after-hours emergencies are referred to local emergency facilities. Medical and surgical specialists are available within reasonable distances, if case referral is needed.
Associate applicants should be willing to participate in surgery of a routine nature on a regular basis. Discussion of interesting cases is welcomed between staff doctors.
Enthusiastic, caring, team oriented approach to veterinary medicine. Interest in participating in surgery of routine nature.
