We are looking for an associate veterinarian to work for a 3 doctor small animal practice in western NY. Our hospital motto is “Where your pet is part of our family” and we enjoy working in a supportive team environment with a wonderful roster of loyal clients. Veterinary colleagues will include two doctors with 20+ years of experience as well as a recent graduate (2014). The recent grad reported, “Mentorship has always been readily available and includes both internal medicine and surgical guidance. Great opportunity for a new grad to learn at a comfortable pace.”
We have a great staff of three technicians and many assistants who have been with the practice for 2-10+ years. Hospital equipment includes digital x-ray, ultrasound, Abaxis CBC, Profile, and PT/PTT machines, dental equipment, anesthesia monitoring including blood pressure monitors, and Avimark practice management software. We strive to maintain a pleasant family atmosphere both in the clinic and out. Work weeks are approximately 36 hours per week with one weekday off. We are open three evenings (until 7pm) per week, with evening hours split between the doctors. Emergency work is 1-2 nights per week on call and every third weekend. The clinic is open 8-12 on Saturdays and these hours are part of your on call weekend. There are several emergency referral clinics within one hour and Cornell University is 2.5 hours away, giving us access to emergency services as well as specialized services such as neurology, oncology, ophthalmology, and cardiology.
The hospital is located in Batavia, NY, between Buffalo and Rochester, two of the fastest growing cities in the northeast. We value a work/life balance and hope our new veterinarian will have the opportunity to experience the many highlights of western NY. Batavia has a great small town atmosphere with easy access to some of western NY’s great amenities including beautiful state parks, wineries, Niagara Falls, ski resorts, and several minor and major league sports teams. Buffalo and Rochester are within 45 minute drives.
