The San Francisco SPCA Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experienced, California-licensed veterinarian to join our Mission Campus staff. We are seeking a clinician who is a skilled communicator and enjoys engaging with clients and peers to provide the best care possible for every animal.
The mission of the San Francisco SPCA is to save and protect animals, to provide care and treatment, to advocate for their welfare and to enhance the human-animal bond. The San Francisco SPCA Veterinary Hospital is critical to this mission. In addition to serving the general public, the Hospital provides financial assistance to those who are unable to afford life-saving veterinary care so as to prevent animal abandonment.
The SF SPCA Veterinary Hospital is AAHA certified and open 7 days a week. We have a staff of over 15 doctors and we serve over 22,000 animals each year. The support staff at the SF SPCA is incredibly talented, compassionate and committed to patient care. Our capable nursing staff provides overnight care for appropriate animals. Our patient caseload is varied and challenging.
Our hospital facility includes ultrasound, complete hospital lab, critical care monitoring equipment, digital radiography, CT and fully equipped surgical and dental suites. We also have a ping-pong table and a softball team!

Education and Experience (Required):
Graduated from an accredited veterinary medical college – DVM or equivalent
Licensed to practice in the State of California
Possession of a DEA registration number
Between 3 and 10 years of experience as a full-time practicing veterinarian
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Demonstrated aptitude in clinical internal medicine specialty services
Demonstrated success in working with a diverse team of professionals, skilled in managing varied relationships and successful at facilitating collaboration and cooperation

Ability to mediate conflicts and give and receive feedback
Willingness to work the hours necessary to accomplish targeted responsibilities
Ability to delegate responsibility, achieve and measure results with team members
Commitment to practice excellent quality medicine and uphold the veterinary code of ethics
