Do you want to lead an exciting new venture to manage unwanted pet overpopulation? The Fix ‘Em Clinic, a low cost spay neuter clinic in Charleston, West Virginia, is seeking a veterinarian to perform surgical sterilizations and wellness services. We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization passionate about preventing the unnecessary suffering and euthanasia of cats and dogs due to overpopulation and preventable diseases, especially in low-income areas. Our clinic will serve southern West Virginia.
Responsibilities include: providing high volume, high quality, dog and cat spay/neuter surgeries; ensuring safe, effective, and efficient medical procedures; and providing wellness services. Candidates must have a strong work ethic and a commitment to reducing companion and feral animal overpopulation, and maintain the highest standards possible in our field.
Candidates will need to be able to thrive in a high volume, fast paced environment. Training will be provided by Humane Alliance on the required high-quality, high volume spay neuter technique. Background in small animal medicine and a DVM degree from an accredited school of veterinary medicine is required and experience working as a spay neuter surgeon is preferred. New graduates will be considered. Must have a positive attitude and be committed to treating animals with kindness and respect (and staff, too!). Must have or obtain West Virginia license to practice veterinary medicine.
Our staff works Monday – Friday, with availability to work some Saturday shifts. Salary is competitive, based on experience. Hours are regular and predictable, so you have time to devote to family and other favorite pursuits.
