About the opportunity
The Sydney School of Veterinary Sciences is seeking an outstanding equine surgeon and academic leader for our equine service based at Camden in the beautiful and rapidly growing south west of Sydney.

The Sydney School of Veterinary Science (SSVS) in the Faculty of Science at the University of Sydney is ranked 1st in Southern hemisphere, and 9th in the world among veterinary schools (QS rankings, 2016). SSVS also holds the highest research ranking (ERA 5/5).
SSVS provides a range of undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs in veterinary and associated disciplines. The teaching hospitals provide the clinical learning experience for undergraduate and postgraduate students, interns and residents engaged in professional training programs.
You will be actively engaged in the development and delivery of first class teaching and an outstanding referral service in equine surgery and other equine specialities based at the CEC. Seeing around 1800 clients annually the service is already well established with the prospect of a new specialist hospital in the foreseeable future. We already boast first rate equipment including standing MRI and Nuclear Scintigraphy and on-site specialist-led pathology and anaesthesia services.

- specialist qualifications in equine surgery registrable in NSW (e.g.Diplomate ECVS, ACVS or FANZCVS )
- experience in managing a clinical referral service in a large referral centre or Teaching Hospital
- a commitment to hands on clinical surgical practice including on - call work
- a commitment to leading and developing a diverse team to deliver outstanding equine practice, teaching and research
- a track record in teaching and research

Remuneration will depend on upon the experience of the successful candidate with support towards travel expenses and accommodation in either location.
