Doctorate in veterinary medicine
Knowledge of spelling and meaning of commonly used veterinary terms (e.g. anatomy, physiology, diseases and tests)

Our intensive care unit is staffed 24 hours per day and 7 days a week. We are able to monitor and treat critical and post-operative patients. Our advanced intensive care unit is designed to provide advanced medical support, including transfusions, oxygen, intravenous fluids, pain management, and nutrition.
The Heart of Texas Veterinary Specialty Center also offers a variety of advanced surgical techniques and procedures for pets requiring emergency surgical treatment, or specialized surgeries on a referral basis. Our highly trained support staff will continuously monitor a patient's anesthesia and post-operative recovery. We use only the safest drugs and anesthetic agents and we are strong proponents of appropriate and effective pain management. Our oncology referral service is dedicated to enhancing and extending the quality of life for our veterinary cancer patients. Our team consists of several highly skilled, compassionate, and gentle veterinary technicians. Our board-certified veterinary oncologist has years of additional training specifically in veterinary oncology, and is skilled at diagnosing, staging, and treating patients with a multitude of cancer types. We collaborate extensively with other specialists in our field, participate in clinical trials, and use our leading-edge facility to rapidly and accurately diagnose and treat health issues.
At Heart of Texas Veterinary our Internal Medicine service is dedicated to providing an extraordinary level of patient care, but also places emphasis on a personalized relationship with our clients.
