The Delhi Animal Hospital is seeking a motivated, enthusiastic individual to join our 4 doctor team of mixed animal practitioners. The practice is nestled in the beautiful Catskill region of upstate NY, in a small, scenic college town, which is also the home of the nations first veterinary science technology program.
Preference will be made towards candidates interested in mixed animal practice, but consideration will also be given for those applicants looking for companion animal exclusive, or individuals interested in developing their large animal skills. New graduates are welcome! Our current team of veterinarians will be an enormous source of support and guidance for any new graduate or new associate, with a diverse range of 2 years to over 40 years of experience with an utmost willingness to mentor!!
The Delhi Animal Hospital continues to grow and modernize, and has been a fixture in the community for generations. We are not a corporate owned veterinary hospital, and encourage and support individuality in the practice of veterinary medicine. We are a family oriented practice, and work schedules are flexible to accommodate both family and career.
Our busy companion animal hospital employs 3 LVT's and 2 veterinary assistants. Hospital runs avimark practice management software, and is equipped with a new digital x ray, dental unit, anesthetic monitoring equipment, abaxis in house blood analysis, and several options for gas anesthesia. We are less than 2 hours from Cornell University, which is a vast resource for information, diagnostics, referral and veterinary technical support. The Delhi Animal Hospital provides the majority of veterinary care for the local humane society, making a positive impact our community while giving the practice an additional and interesting case load.
The practice provides ambulatory service to farm animal and rural equine clients within approx hour radius. Large animal consists of 90 % dairy, and 10% beef/small ruminant. Our dairy clients range from 50 cow conventional tie stalls, 200-500 cow freestalls, and even a robotic dairy. Many clients on routine monthly or biweekly herd health programs, and daily schedules are composed of both routine, and emergency calls. Practice vehicle or mileage compensation given to veterinarians providing large animal services, with all necessary equipment including reproductive ultrasound provided. After hours services provided to our Large animal clients only and small animal after hours emergencies are referred to both local and regional emergency facilities.
Candidates must have DVM/VMD, eligible for New York State licensure
