The city of Orville is located in Butte County in the Sierra Nevada Foothills within the Northern Sacramento Valley. Our city is considered to be the gateway to Lake Oroville and Feather River recreational areas. Lake Oroville offers many sporting activities throughout the year, such as skiing, sailing, swimming, fishing, camping and picnicking. Feather River Parkway offers a five-mile loop which overlooks the Feather River and is popular with walkers, joggers, and bicyclists. It also contains a swimming area, amphitheater, and tennis courts. The city is approximately 65 miles north of Sacramento and 2.5 hours from the San Francisco Bay Area and Reno. Oroville is also relatively close to Napa Valley so a day trip can be planned in wine country!
