Job Summary: The SPCA of Texas is seeking a Shelter/Foster Veterinarian to help fulfil our mission.
The veterinarian will perform examinations, diagnose and provide treatment to shelter animals according to established guidelines. This position will help to ensure herd health protocols and proper sanitation practices. The ideal candidate will have a passion for shelter medicine and the welfare of homeless and abused animals. The veterinarian will support the SPCA of Texas foster program in regards to medical fosters and early age foster animals. This may include after- hours emergency situations. Must be able and willing to develop and administer disease prevention for shelter animals which can encompass traditional medical practices such as vaccination, parasite control, and nutrition as well as areas less commonly considered such as air quality, facility design, stress reduction and management of population density.
