PAW Health fights every day to redefine the industry and establish trends for tomorrow’s veterinary team in today’s world.
We analyze every member of our team, every aspect of our process, and focus every effort in our hospital to be exclusively a patient-driven organization.
Providing unparalleled service is simply not enough to be truly dedicated to patient care.
Creating unity within a team, creating a clinic culture based on healthy conflict and accountability, abolishing old tradition of hierarchy-based medical team, acknowledging value in every position, understanding variability in the human-animal bond, and accepting the confines of budgets are how a team truly become patient-oriented organization.
At PAW Health, we consider each pet owner a part of our collective medical team. We rely upon them to administer medications, notice clinical symptoms, track diseases, and provide the veterinary team with necessary information to help manage each pet throughout their life.
Being a part of our medical team, we refer to every pet owner as a Caregiver. Having to provide ongoing care, we refer to every pet as our collective Patient.
Whether in the presence of staff or to caregivers, we do not use the term owners, parents, animals, pets, or children. Universally adopting any one of these terms will inappropriately disparage a caregiver who may not define their human-animal bond using those selected terms.
It is not our responsibility to impress upon caregivers how they should value their human-animal bond. It is not our responsibility to have a culture that selects which patient’s we prefer to treat. It is not our responsibility to have a culture that selects which caregiver we prefer to assist. It is our responsibility to provide consultations where informed consent is provided. It is our responsibility to assemble estimates that maximize the diagnostic and therapeutic potential for every budget.
