DoveLewis Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Hospital is hiring a full-time Veterinary Technician or experienced Assistant to join our team. Shifts Available: Overnight or Swing Wage: Starts at $21-$25 hourly, plus an overnight differential for applicable shifts. As a Technician or Veterinary Assistant, you will be responsible for providing our clients with a top-notch experience as well as responsible for providing emergency nursing care to patients through compliance with the attending doctor's orders. On a daily basis, you will triage patients, calculate medical dosages and administer medications, run in-house lab work, place tubes and catheters, monitor and ensure patients' comfort, update clients on their pet's progress, and perform a variety of other tasks. This requires solid technical skills. Because of our hospital's client-centered nature, this role requires your commitment to providing both patients and clients with the highest standard of care. Your ability to handle stressful situations in a fast-paced environment with compassion, efficiency, and flexibility is key to success in this role. What are we looking for in a candidate? • Minimum of three years working in the veterinary field as a technician or assistant. • Preferred minimum of one year cardiology or other specialty small animal care experience. • CVT or LVT preferred. • Any suitable combination of experience or education may substitute for the above.
