The Indiana County Humane Society (ICHS) in Indiana PA is looking for a part-time or full-time shelter veterinarian. ICHS is a low-kill shelter with a save rate of 95%, with an average population of 25 dogs and 200 cats. We are looking to provide veterinarian services to the dogs and cats in our care, as well as to offer low-cost veterinarian services to our community. You will be working in a newly developed clinic within ICHS, performing general shelter veterinarian services such as spay and neuter, exams, diagnostics and treatment of humane cases as well as supporting our community outreach to provide low-cost wellness services to the public. Confidence in spay and neuter surgeries is a must. If you have a passion to help shelter animals, this could be the perfect fit for you.
The ideal candidate will have at least one year of small animal veterinary practice experience, with a focus on spay and neuter surgeries. The candidate will need a DEA license, the cost of which will be covered by ICHS. Because of the shelter aspect of the job, experience with juvenile small animals will be important.
The compensation for this position is negotiable and will largely depend upon experience. If you are looking to work in a beautiful college community in close proximity to Pittsburgh, we think you will love Indiana PA and working at the Indiana County Humane Society.
