Ardmore Animal Care, Inc. (AAC) is seeking a shelter veterinarian to help provide quality medical care for our shelter residents. In addition to shelter medicine, the shelter veterinarian would also work with the adjoining Ardmore Low Cost Spay & Neuter Clinic that performs spays and neuters of adopted shelter pets and community pets.
Some of these duties would include but not be limited to:
Perform 30-35 spays and neuters during two/three clinic days per week
Insure all intakes receive prompt medical care
Monitor all intakes for individual/herd health and welfare
Diagnose sick or injured residents and create treatment plans for the same
Stabilize sick or injured intakes when they enter the shelter
Maintain accurate records on each animal treated
Train shelter staff on proper medical evaluations, behavior assessment and physical assessment at intake
Aid in the development of procedures and protocols which relate to the needs of the sheltered animals including but not limited to disease prevention and sanitation
Assist with coordinating and administering vaccinations during public clinics
Euthanization will not be required
Most weeks only 4 days required
