St. Francis Pet Care provides non-emergency veterinary care, including spays/neuters, minor surgeries, and dentals, to the pets of responsible but homeless or very low-income pet owners. We have a primary clinic in a new facility located in downtown Gainesville, FL, and two monthly outreach clinics.
St. Francis Pet Care is looking for an amazing human to help lead this very special clinic:
Passionate about helping an underserved community
Appreciation for and ability to practice with a ‘herd health’ mentality
Comfortable diagnosing and treating disease with few diagnostic tools
Proficient surgical, medical, and dental skills
Able to effectively communicate with individuals of various backgrounds and personalities
Thrives in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment, by keeping organized and multi-tasking to maximize efficiency
Successful leader, educator, and team-player
This position provides competitive pay, benefit compensation, 4 weeks paid-time-off, continuing education, and flexible schedule. Outreach clinics do occur on Saturdays, so some Saturday coverage is required. Because we are a not-for-profit organization, this position is also eligible for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF). Candidates must have a current veterinary license and be eligible to obtain licensure in Florida, as well as obtain a DEA license.
