The Triangle's premier Emergency and Specialty Hospitals are seeking a highly motivated, highly skilled registered veterinary technician to join our team as Surgery Service Supervisor. Triangle Veterinary Referral Hospitals (TVRH) is a multi-location group which consists of two 24-hour Emergency and Specialty practices. In addition to our emergency and critical care service, we have specialty services in surgery, internal medicine, cardiology, oncology, radiology, neurology, dermatology, and rehabilitation.
As we continue to grow, we are expanding our management team by adding a Surgery Supervisor that will manage our surgery department support staff as well as spearhead the development and implementation of patient care processes for this service. The Surgery Supervisor position will perform the routine duties of a surgery nurse as well as provide direction and support to this service on a daily basis. The Surgery Supervisor, in conjunction with our ER/ICU Supervisor and Specialty Supervisor, will help to oversee the day to day flow of the medical support team, identify and address any issues or concerns and provide team members with the appropriate training, tools, direction, and motivation to enable their success.
This position will function with a great deal of autonomy and responsibility. Solid anesthesia technical skills and knowledge base, sound judgment, and the ability to function both independently and with a team are required. Strong verbal and written communication skills, organizational and computer skills; proactive thinking, and the right attitude are also a must. Floor duties include routine patient care such as patient assessment, performing patient treatments, administering medications, taking radiographs, venipuncture, anesthesia monitoring, obtaining patient histories, and client communication.

Essential Job Functions:
Collaborate with the management team regarding staff management visions and objectives
Directly supervise the surgery medical support team on the treatment floor providing strong, compassionate, and consistent leadership
Direct staff workflow on the floor to ensure adequate staffing to meet patient care needs
Assure quality of patient care by developing and interpreting hospital standards of care in conjunction with the clinician and leadership teams
Maintain medical support guidelines by writing, updating, and implementing/ enforcing patient processing policies and procedures for the specialty services
Facilitate communication between doctors and specialty medical support staff
Recruit, hire, and train staff for the surgery services
Monitor and manage surgery medical support staff including
Ensuring the highest level of patient care
Conducting performance reviews
Ensuring punctuality and attendance
Adherence to hospital policies and procedures
Support staff regular and on-call schedules

Associates degree in Veterinary Technology
Current RVT in NC or eligible for NC registration
5+ years of veterinary experience
2+ years of surgery/anesthesia experience
Cornerstone experience preferred
