Shiloh Veterinary Hospital is searching for an associate veterinarian who is interested in working at a high quality, AAHA certified small animal practice with a strong focus on teamwork and work-life balance. With 2 locations and 12 vets, we are a highly collaborative team with plenty of opportunities for personal and professional growth. Our ownership structure is unique, and we can assure you that our practice is not at risk of being purchased by a veterinary corporation. Likewise, candidates with an interest in a potential future buy-in are encouraged to apply.
We pride ourselves on providing an exceptional client experience using a bond-centered approach, so communication skills, a positive outlook, and emotional intelligence are critical for this position. Our awesome clients reward us with their exceptional loyalty and trust. We are also a paperless practice, so computer skills are a must and good record-keeping habits are required. New graduates are encouraged to apply and will be solidly mentored, without being stifled.
We are a certified "Cat Friendly" AND "Fear Free" clinic, with over 50 employees who are a minimum of level 1 & 2 Fear Free Certified! Our practice has onsite physical therapy and acupuncture, and we also have an on-site positive methods dog trainer who will happily provide resources and consult on cases.
We have a wonderful group of friendly, enthusiastic and highly trained staff members, and we utilize them to their fullest extent! You will always have a technician in the exam room with you and a sterile surgical assistant for every surgery, while a second technician monitors anesthesia. You will be free to perform the duties that can ONLY be done by a vet!
Available equipment includes digital radiography (regular and dental), ultrasound, in house lab, TonoVet Plus tonometry, therapeutic laser, Ellman radiosurgery unit, Doppler blood pressure, high-speed dental drills, and extensive anesthetic monitoring equipment.
We do not see after-hours emergencies, but you will be expected to work 1 or 2 evenings a week (till 8 pm) and 1-2 Saturdays a month, as well as be available for supervision of hospitalized cases on occasional weekends. Quality of life is a priority for all of our doctors and staff - we are very careful to avoid overwork and burnout!
Our practices are located in York, Pennsylvania, where you can enjoy a lower cost of living yet still be within easy distance of several large cities (Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington D.C., Harrisburg etc.). The city of York offers a small town atmosphere with plenty of the amenities that you would expect from a more urbanized area - truly the best of both worlds!
Salary is very competitive for the area (see "salary info" for more details). Benefits include state & DEA licensing fees, liability and malpractice insurance, $1500/year CE allowance, dues for 2 professional organizations, 401K with 50% employer matching, generous portion of health insurance paid, life insurance, and availability of dental and vision insurance plans (employee funded). We also offer VIN & Plumb's Formulary online memberships and VetX:Thrive and/or VetGirl CE membership.
Please reach out to us if you have any questions at all!
Additional Salary Information: Guaranteed base salary of $85K annually, but our veterinarians are paid on production so actual earning potential is MUCH higher. The take home pay for our full time vets last year ranged from $91K to $127K.
