A little about our hospital:

• VCA Northwood Animal Hospital is an AAHA-accredited, 24 hour General and Emergency Veterinary Practice in the greater Indianapolis area that also offers advanced surgical soft-tissue and orthopedic procedures.  

• Our facility features ultrasound, scopes, state-of-the-art surgical equipment, digital dental radiography, digital radiography, oxygen cages and a variety of monitoring equipment. We are well-known in the community and take pride in our smaller family environment. Our caseload is steady and interesting, yet very manageable. In addition, our facility has a close knit relationship with our sister specialty hospital that is available 24/7 for consultation and transfer of patients when necessary. 

• Our practice offers ER positions that work 12 shifts a month at a competitive salary. Due to our relationship with our sister specialty hospital, our strong veterinary doctors and support staff, we also have the resources available to mentor veterinarians (experienced and/or non-experienced) in emergency medicine. 

The successful candidate should have the skills or desire to gain proficiency in treating emergencies and triaging patients. Strong communication skills are vital, as we promote client education. We are searching for someone with a desire to advocate for and strive to deliver the highest quality medical and surgical diagnostics and treatment to companion animals. 

Other Skills and Qualifications- A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree, or equivalent, from an accredited university. Licensure and good standing to practice in Indiana, and upholding the veterinary code of ethics. Professional comportment and appearance, with excellent interpersonal skills and a positive, friendly attitude. The ability to make decisions and communicate clearly and effectively with fellow team members. Respect for and willingness to work with clients and their pets.
