Vet Tech / Nurse / Assistant
Registered Veterinary Technicians and Certified Veterinary Assistants are needed for both our General Practice and our Urgent Care Practice (day shift and night shift).
Do you enjoy caring for healthy dogs and cats, but also enjoy the thrill of urgent care and emergency medicine? Do you enjoy diagnostics and surgeries? Are you looking to work with a team that enjoys working together and have a healthy work/life balance? Then Adamson Veterinary Services is the perfect place for you. As a Veterinary Technician or a Veterinary Assistant at our practice, you will have the opportunity to enjoy all of these things. Our large community-based practice houses both a Day-time General Practice & an after-hours Urgent & Emergency Care Center. You will have the opportunity to work a variety of cases from everyday wellness care to emergency medicine. You will become part of an amazing team that cares about their patients and works together. We offer a flexible schedule, allowing you to enjoy your time off and focus on yourself and/or your family.
We need 3 RVTs (registered veterinary technicians) and 2 - 3 experienced veterinary assistants. The RVT and vet assistant positions are NOT kennel positions, these are nursing positions and applicants should have a solid foundation in veterinary nursing. I want team members that want to work as true animal nurses to free veterinarians up to perform doctor work. They will use the skills they learned in school or on the job to provide top notch medicine.
As an employer, I encourage new ideas, new methods, and evidence based medicine. I offer a decent living wage, bonuses and great benefits. I firmly believe in work-life balance and provide work schedules that promote it. The goal is to make my practice a high-tech hospital where you have modern tools and equipment to work with, can get the experience you want, work with amazing people and find a place you want to stay long term. There are two different practices in the same hospital. The General Practice is a day practice that is open 7 days a week and provides a flexible schedule that requires a person to work some weekends. We are closed major holidays and there are NO on call duties, and NO overnighters. The other practice is an After Hour Urgent Care Practice that is open only 5 days a week but has a less flexible schedule that does require a person to work every weekend, although this can be negotiated. We close on major holiday, there are NO on call duties, and NO overnighters. No one works more than 5 days at a time and only works one shift/day. The after-hour practice offers a higher salary to compensate for required weekends and the later hours. It also offers bonuses and great benefits as well. My philosophy is based on the premise that if you treat people fairly, pay them well and provide a great place to work, they will go above and beyond for the people they work with and the patients they see.
We continue to grow in this pandemic environment and have offered our services to other veterinary hospitals to refer pets to. We have grown from a 2 1/2 doctor practice to a 4 doctor General Practice and are working our way into a 2 doctor after hour Urgent Care Practice. That means I need more staff to support those doctors. RVTs and VA of all experience levels are welcomed. If you are looking for a challenge and a place to use your hard-earned skills, be respected as a hard working, intelligent team member, make a decent living wage, great benefits and a healthy work-life balance, then this is for you. Come join our team and see what the Adamson Veterinary experience is all about! Please visit us on our website or check out our Facebook page. Thinking about us but not sure? Come spend a few hours with us or schedule an externship with us to get a solid feel for our team. Your future awaits you here at Adamson's. All experience levels considered, New Grads Welcomed.

About Adamson Veterinary Services and the Urgent & Emergency Care Center
Adamson Veterinary Services is recognized for its commitment to enhancing the health of our community’s pets by providing excellent patient care, delivering outstanding value, and embracing clinical innovations. We are known in our community for meeting the healthcare needs of our patients with thorough medical and surgical care along with our wellness and vaccine programs. We are one of the largest hospitals in our area. With multiple doctors on staff, all sick patients can be seen either the same day or within a few days based appointment availability, whether the Urgent Care is open, and how sick the patient is. We have been able to remain open during the COVID-19 pandemic and are now picking up patients from other practices that have closed their doors or have had to decrease their patient load due to the restrictions of Curbside service. This means we are growing by leaps and bounds and our 2 1/2 doctor General Practice has expanded out to a 3 1/2 to 4 doctor General Practice in the last year. When I say we are growing and expanding, it is no exaggeration, we need veterinarians and staff to provide medical care for all the new patients we have coming through our doors. A...s the owner of the practice, I encourage new ideas, new methods, and evidence based medicine. We (meaning the entire staff and doctors) are modern thinkers and I am a flexible, open minded employer. I offer a decent living wage, bonuses and great benefits that are comparable to what any corporation will offer. I firmly believe in work-life balance and provide work schedules that promote it. We are a private practice that provides mentorship and encourages new ideas and growth. Growth is always in the front of my mind so I am always looking for great employees to support it. My goal is to make my practice someplace where you can not only get the experience you want but find a place to stay long term. There are two different practices in the same hospital. The General Practice is a day practice that is open 7 days a week and provides a flexible schedule that requires a person to work only 1 weekend every 3 or 4 weeks. We are closed major holidays and there are NO on call duties, and NO overnighters. No one works more than 5 days at a time and only works one shift/day. The other practice is an After Hour Urgent Care Practice that is open only 5 days a week but has a less flexible schedule that does require a person to work weekends, although this can be negotiated. We close on major holiday, there are NO on call duties, and NO overnighters. No one works more than 5 days at a time and only works one shift/day. The after hour practice offers a higher salary to compensate for required weekends and the later hours. It also offers bonuses and great benefits as well. The Urgent Care practice is open only 5 days a week, closed Wednesday and Thursday and open from close of the General Practice until midnight. You are not required to work in both practices unless that is what you wish. As I said, I am very flexible and believe in work-life balance. I want my employees to be glad to come to work and not be over worked. I want them to have a life outside work and do not expect them to slave away at all hours of the day or night. My philosophy is based on the premise that if you treat people fairly, pay them well, and provide a great place to work, they will go above and beyond for the people they work with and the patients they see. Other things that make our practices unique:
Both practices provide sick or urgent care appointments for those patients that need to be seen but are not emergencies. Both practices will see the occasional emergency. The General Practice also will see Wellness patients but the Urgent Care practice does not.
We get pets in quicker than other veterinary hospital whenever possible and this allows other veterinary hospitals to refer their patients to us. Our Urgent Care practice gets people in and seen within a few minutes and general is less expensive than the ER. Since our ERs in this area are overloaded, this is a great service for the community. Most importantly, it also supports the ERs. It gives them someplace to refer clients for their pets that aren't emergencies but need to be seen.
People come to us because we are open, believe in providing quality medicine, have well trained staff, and their veterinarians have recommended us.
We are a multi-doctor practice that is constantly growing and serving our community.
Both practices treat patients with a broad spectrum of illnesses and injuries, as well as perform surgical procedures.
We have on-site diagnostic equipment, including a UA analyzer, CBC machine, Zoetis Chemistry and Coag analyzers, I-Stat, Imagest fecal analyzer, incubator, ultrasound, and digital imaging equipment.
We have multiple exam rooms that are large enough we can maintain social distancing.
We have a separate isolation ward for contagious patients.
We DO NOT provide boarding services. We do not believe sick or surgery patients should be housed together with boarding pets.
We can perform sterile and non-sterile surgical procedures with general anesthesia or sedation.
We have an experienced and dedicated staff whose primary function is to have the needs of the patient come first. We are always looking to expand our staff to provide better medicine and services.
We are recognized by community leaders, industry leaders, and most importantly our clients as a technology and knowledge leader in veterinary medicine.
We are an evidence-based practice that provides medicine based on exams and tests to diagnose and treat diseases.
We are a patient centered practice; we provide our patients with the highest quality medical and surgical care. With a gentle touch and compassion, we try to ease pets’ fears and pain while performing annual exams and vaccines, medical or surgical procedures and end of life care.
