In search of Small or Mixed Animal Veterinarian for full time position.
I have a mixed animal practice in Livingston, Texas. We are predominantly small animal but we see horses and cows as well. I built and started this practice and we have been open 19 years now. Our practice has grown and I am now ready to hire an additional veterinarian.
New graduates or experienced veterinarians are welcome. I am willing to mentor new graduates if so desired. I learned from others and think it's important to share experiences to foster that same learning process.
We have a busy, fast paced practice. We pride our self on our friendly environment and our courteous service. Our clients come back because or our excellent communication skills and quality medicine we practice. Our clinic is centered around preventative medicine and treatment of cases with medical and surgical expertise. We have a Surgery Suite complete with an advanced diagnostic center. This includes a Lasercyte CBC machine , Idexx Catalyst One Chemistry machine, Digital Radiography, numerous Idexx snap tests including Feline Pro-BNP, snap Foal IgG, snap 4DX, FIV/FeLV/Heartworm, Giardia, etc.
Our Surgery is equipped with state of the art monitors (ECG, Blood Pressure, Pulse oximeters, apnea monitors, etc.) We do most of the surgeries here including orthopedic cases, tumor excisions, urologic cases, diaphragmatic hernia repair, wound repair, etc.
Our Large Animal Facility consists of a horse barn and cattle working system. The barn is complete with stocks and stalls. We treat and hospitalize cases as needed. We treat colic's either in an out-patient basis or offer hospitalization and IV fluids. We do a fair amount of farm calls to increase our large animal business.
Compensation Package for recent graduates includes $93,000.00 as base salary, plus additional income for Emergency duty, paid CE, paid vacation, paid PLIT, etc.
Any experience level will be considered. A Texas Veterinary License is required.
We are a small town Veterinary clinic which is 85% small and 15% large. We would welcome either a small animal veterinarian or a mixed animal practitioner. Our practice philosophy centers around friendly service and quality medicine. To allow us to practice quality medicine we have Digital Rads, Laserctye CBC machine, Idexx Catalyst chemistry machine, ECG plus a multitude of other diagnostic tests. We do refer cases but we try to do all we can here (fracture repair, cystotomies, pyometra, hernia repairs, c-sections, laceration repair, etc.). Although we primarily work on dogs and cats, we also see horses, cows, goats, and a rare pig. Our willingness to do house calls and farm calls results in our being able to practice large animal medicine with some frequency. In addition to that, we also have a horse barn with stocks and a cattle handling facility with a squeeze chute. I do take emergency calls and they would be equally shared with another vet. I find emergencies yield more interesting cases and allow us to bond with our clients as well as bring in new clients to our practice. This would be a great practice for someone eager to learn the diverse medicine in a mixed anima...l practice. It would also be beneficial to someone looking to expand their surgical skills. Or a veteran vet looking for a slower small town atmosphere.
