The RGV Low Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic, a well established, non-profit is seeking a full-time and/or a relief veterinarian for its high quality, high-volume spay/neuter and wellness clinic located in McAllen, TX. McAllen is located in the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas. McAllen and its neighboring cities are home to Quinta Mazatlan, known for its exotic birds, the National Butterfly Center, Scenic Wetlands and World Birding Center, International Museum of Art & Science, Gladys Porter Zoo and many other sites you can explore at www.townsquarepublications.com. We strongly believe our clinic lends itself to those seeking the satisfaction of contributing to an extremely underserved community while still maintaining the ability to balance the demands of work with those of their personal and social lives. We are looking for a motivated, well rounded Veterinarian to join our expanding practice and help lead our dedicated veterinary team. We are looking to expand our practice to include limited general medicine in an effort to better serve the growing population of the Rio Grande Valley. With a continually growing population of over 1.4 million and an average of 28% living below the poverty level, the need for accessible, affordable veterinary care is great.
New graduates are encouraged to apply; additional training will be provided. Salary is negotiable and based on experience. The RGV Low Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic is a Humane Alliance mentored clinic, committed to reducing the number of homeless, sick and injured pets entering local animal shelters. We have performed more than 90,000 surgeries since opening in 2009, offering our services to the general public, local animal centers and rescues. In October 2016, after almost 7 years in our original location, a move was made to a 6000 square foot, newly renovated, fully equipped facility suited for a growing practice.
Basic Requirements:
Must be a licensed Veterinarian in good standing in the state of Texas or eligible.
Ability to obtain Texas DEA license upon employment.
High volume spay/neuter and general practice experience, preferred, but not required.
Must be able to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
Must be willing to participate in the training of veterinary staff.
Must ensure all staff members adhere to proper care of all patients.
