Shelter Veterinarian/Clinic Director, Juneau Animal Rescue ABOUT US: Juneau Animal Rescue (JAR) is unlike many shelters. We are a non-profit, low-volume, open admission animal shelter located in Juneau, Alaska. We are contracted to provide animal control and protection services to the City and Borough of Juneau. Additionally, we provide dog boarding, doggy daycare, and grooming services to the community. ABOUT JUNEAU: The capital city of Alaska and a community of approximately 32,000, Juneau is located on the mainland, but because of the mountains surrounding it, only accessible by air or ferry. Over one million tourists a year visit the city, mostly on cruise ships. Juneau sits in a large wilderness area wit
