Company Overview

We are a small animal general practice that takes pride in providing the best medicine and surgery for our patients. Our caseload is diverse and consists of about 50% wellness and 50% illness visits. Believe me, you won’t get bored with our medical and surgical cases. Our doctors love to round and we have specialists just a phone call away, so you will not be alone trying to navigate challenging cases.

Company History

On October 11, 2017, Baker Animal Hospital, formerly owned and operated by Daniel Baker, DVM, was purchased by a current associate veterinarian, Charles Yurkon, DVM, and his wife, Jennifer Yurkon. The practice has begun the transition to its new name, Happy Tales Veterinary Hospital.

Services offered at Happy Tales Veterinary Hospital will be identical to those of Baker Animal Hospital; the existing staff will remain intact as well. “Jennifer and I have both been caring for animals for more than 15 years in a variety of roles. Dr. Baker has built something really special here and we’re so excited to have the opportunity to take the reins as he transitions into retirement. Although the new name, Happy Tales Veterinary Hospital, offers a fresh start for us as its new owners, we want to stress to our existing clients that they can expect the same quality of care and service from our seasoned and committed team,” stated Dr. Yurkon.

Dr. Charles Yurkon, a graduate of Colorado State University, joined Baker Animal Hospital in June of 2016. Dr. Yurkon lives in Transfer with his wife and their children- daughter, Charley Jean, and son, Emmett James. The Yurkons look forward to setting their roots in the community they serve.

Over the past 35 years, Dr. Baker was active in the community and well-known for his commitment to high-quality veterinary care. The sale of the practice will allow Dr. Baker to fully transition into retirement and spend time with family and friends.
