Privately owned Equine Ambulatory Practice in southern New York is looking for a full time or part time associate veterinarian to add to our cozy group! We would be happy to hire a new grad, as mentorship abounds here. The position is flexible- we can accommodate an applicant looking for a part time work schedule.
About Us!
Mid-Hudson Veterinary Practice, PC is located in Carmel, in historic Putnam County, New York. We are a strictly ambulatory practice- predominantly equine, with some small ruminant/camelid clients. We are paperless, and have digital radiology, ultrasound, gastroscopy, endoscopy and shockwave available. We cover a broad array of clients from competition riders to trail riders. The practice is surrounded by excellent referral centers (within 1-3 hours) for upper level imaging and surgical options. The practice owners are strong and consistent mentors, encouraging discussion, collaboration, and partnering. We accept students and shadowing hours in the summer for potential future veterinarians; as well as veterinary externships.
We offer a guaranteed competitive starting salary ( followed by a ProSal system in subsequent years ), IRA match, 2 weeks of paid time off, contribution to healthcare costs, FSA, professional dues/licensing fees/professional liability insurance paid, and a 4-day work week.
About our New Veterinarian!
We are looking to add a teachable, communicative, professional associate who can “think outside the box” on cases, and can cater to individualized health care for our patients. We would love to hire a candidate with NY and eligibility to obtain CT veterinary licensure, as well as Category II federal accreditation.
About Our Area!
The Practice is located in southern NY, but extends into southwestern CT. It is a 4-seasons climate, with lovely hiking, skiing, beaches, wineries, theater/music venues, and NYC all close by! There is no end to the recreational opportunities available to enhance your down time.
Requirements
Our new vet would have NY veterinary licensing, and eligibility to obtain CT licensing, as well as Category II federal accreditation.
This professional would attend routine and urgent farm calls as scheduled by our highly knowledgeable office staff, as well as participate in the shared emergency coverage.
