Experienced Associate Veterinarian — St. Petersburg, FL

Four-day work week Total rewards ~$225K Pay built to reward good medicine, not product sales

We're an independently owned small-animal practice in St. Petersburg, Florida looking for an experienced associate DVM who wants to practice real medicine, be paid fairly and transparently for it, and still have a life outside the clinic.

If you're a few years in — from five years of experience to late-career — and you're tired of production formulas you can't decode, pressure to push retail, or “competitive pay” that never quite adds up, keep reading. We built our compensation to fix exactly those things.

What we actually pay — real numbers, not “DOE”

• $160,000 base salary floor — your guaranteed minimum, not a teaser.
• 23% of professional services / 10% of products, as a greater-of recoverable draw, reconciled quarterly with no negative accrual — a strong quarter is yours to keep; a slow one never claws back.
• Our doctors typically produce $1M+, so realistic cash is ~$200,000. We'll show you actual earnings from our current doctors — we'd rather prove it than promise it.
• Up to ~$24,000/yr in flexible benefits: health insurance, student-loan assistance, CE, license/DEA/PLIT, dues, cell phone.
• Paid vacation plus five dedicated CE days.

All in, total rewards land around ~$225,000/year for an established doctor.

Why our pay is different

Most production models quietly reward selling product and volume. Ours rewards medicine — exams, surgery, dentistry, diagnostics — at the highest rate, and pays far less on low-margin retail. Do good medicine, and the compensation follows. It's transparent, reconciled on a schedule you can see, and never punishes an honest slow quarter.

Requirements

The role & schedule

• A real four-day work week (~191 working days/year).
• Full-service small-animal GP [+ urgent care / surgery]; [2]-doctor team; [equipment list — state of the art equipment including digital dental radiographs, Antech Heska Blood Machines, Radiograph Machine, Ultrasound Machine, Liga Sure, Plasma Sterilizer, full pharmacy].
• Paid vacation plus five dedicated CE days.

Who you are

DVM with active FL license (or eligible before start); ~5+ years preferred, open to the right doctor; strong in medicine and surgery.
