Veterinary Student Externship Opportunity

As a privately owned small animal practice, we are committed to helping veterinary students build confidence, expand their clinical skills, and experience what high-quality companion animal medicine looks like in a collaborative, family-oriented environment.
Our externship program offers students the opportunity to work alongside an experienced veterinarian and Licensed Veterinary Technicians while gaining exposure to all aspects of small animal practice.
What You'll Experience
Comprehensive wellness and sick patient examinations
Diagnostic workups and treatment planning
Surgery and anesthesia observation, with hands-on learning opportunities as experience allows
Dentistry
Digital radiology and ultrasound
In-house IDEXX laboratory diagnostics
Client communication and education
Medical record documentation using AI-assisted transcription and Avimark Practice Management Software
Collaboration with an experienced, highly supportive veterinary team

Requirements
Currently enrolled in an AVMA-accredited university for a doctorate in veterinary medicine.
Be in good academic standing with your veterinary college.
Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and a willingness to learn.
Willingness to observe and actively participate in all aspects of small animal general practice, including wellness care, outpatient medicine, surgery, dentistry, diagnostics, client communication, and medical record documentation.
Possess a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and the ability to work collaboratively with veterinarians and support staff.
