We are looking for a caring, and friendly Medical Director who is a board-certified specialist to join our team at our independently owned Los Angeles, San Fernando Valley and Pasadena Hospitals.
The ACCESS Specialty Animal Hospital – San Fernando Valley location is currently comprised of emergency/critical care, cardiology, internal medicine, surgery, and neurology & neurosurgery. Our practice shares a facility with other independently owned and operated specialty practices allowing for direct collaboration with specialists in dermatology, dentistry, ophthalmology, and oncology. We practice in a rich and rewarding environment where patient care can be optimized, and learning is continuous. This type of collaborative medicine is rare outside of a university setting.
To provide the best care possible, we stay apprised of new innovations, and utilize an extensive array of cutting-edge diagnostic, therapeutic, and monitoring equipment. We are always willing to expand in different directions and explore new therapies.

The Medical Director must always abide by and uphold the Principles of Quality, Integrity, Compassion and Service while behaving as a leader and figurehead for the organization in addition to working as a specialist, the Medical Director has several other responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities –
Establishment and oversight of medical standards and protocols
Assisting management with recruitment, hiring, and evaluating medical personnel
Oversight of scheduling for all doctors (aided by management)
Developing and maintaining relationships with referring practices to generate referrals personally, as well as working with other professional and para-professional staff
Participating in marketing efforts as needed
Participating in meetings, discussions and decisions regarding the strategy, direction and operations of the practice with management
Assist management as required with managing doctors’ job performance
Participating in decisions regarding medical equipment
Maintaining positive relationships with other specialty organizations in the area
Client complaints – work with Hospital Management Team on any medical aspect of a complaint
DVM complaints – work with Hospital Owner and Hospital Management Team with any complaints from primary DVMs
Assisting and training doctor staff as needed
Manage blood donor program, enlist more donors and ensure donor testing is up to date and eligibility guidelines are enforced
Conduct oneself as a leader within our principles and in lock-step with management
Serve as a Tech training liaison
Board-certified veterinary specialist
